We are pleased to announce that Anthony Biagini has joined the Roadworks Management Team as our Construction Operations Manager. In this role he will be overseeing all Estimating and Project Management functions. Anthony will also be working closely with Cheryl and Marcial on building and maintaining client relations. Anthony has fifteen years’ experience working with heavy civil contractors in various capacities. His skill set is diversified, and he transitions from working on bids in the office to managing subcontractors in the field plus everything in between, with ease. Supporting JDRF In Their Fight Against Type 1 Diabetes

On October 26^th, 2019, Roadworks was honored to sponsor and walk with Team Grace for Glen and Blake at the 2019 Raleigh JDRF One Walk. Team Grace for Glen and Blake is hosted by Moffat Pipe, one of our clients and friends. Keith and Andrea Moffat have two children living with Type 1 Diabetes. Type 1 Diabetes, also known as juvenile diabetes, is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin and often appears during childhood. Type 1 diabetes has no cure. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF, is a nonprofit organization that funds Type 1 Diabetes research as well as supports families living with Type 1. Over the years their research has helped with the creation of more consistent insulins, advanced pumps that are easier to wear and track sugar levels better than ever before. Thirty years ago, it was impossible to determine if a child could end up with Type 1. Now, they have found biomarkers that detect Type 1 prior to symptom appearance. Cheryl Joins the Raleigh Chapter of National Association of Women in Construction

The Raleigh Chapter of National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) has a new member, Roadworks own President, Cheryl Biagini. NAWIC started in 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas by sixteen women working in the construction industry who shared similar interests professionally and personally. NAWIC today has chapters all over the country. The Raleigh chapter provides not only networking opportunities but is also very active in the community. Each year they host and sponsor “Block Kids” which is a competition for elementary school students where they build construction projects with legos, string, paper and rocks. This year the Raleigh chapter also has some exciting speakers and activities lined up for Women In Construction Week in March. Last week Cheryl attended her first meeting, met some other great women who work in the construction industry and is excited to be an active participant in the 2019 professional and community activities the Chapter has planned.

Holden Creek Preserve Subdivision

Working as a subcontractor for S.T. Wooten, at the new Holden Creek Preserve Subdivision in Youngsville, Roadworks completed roadbed and shoulder construction of new residential roadways. Roadworks finegraded subgrade for ABC and graded shoulders.

Garner Asphalt Plant Excavation

Roadworks recently completed a project for Lane Construction at their Garner Asphalt Plant. The project consisted of excavation to embankment (cut to fill) of approximately 10,000 CY of earth material along with erosion and sedimentation control basins. An existing 30’ high earth berm was excavated down to allow haul traffic to pass through. A 900’ 12’ high berm around the site was created with the spoils from the excavation. Two large sediment basins were constructed to store and treat runoff.
